Ozjohnsons are Andrea, Mark, Lucy, Hannah & Emma Johnson of the Matcham-Holgate region on the beautiful NSW Central Coast in Australia.
We are fortunate enough to live on a small parcel of Coastal Rainforest land at the head of the Fires Creek valley, just minutes from Terrigal, Avoca, Wamberal, Forrester’s and Shelly beaches and an easy hour’s drive from Sydney, Newcastle, The Hawksbury River, The Hunter Valley wine district and The Great Dividing Range and is also the host to Australia’s largest coastal lake system. It is a magnificent place to live. “The Coast” is an ‘island’ community of two shires – Gosford and Wyong, totalling around 350,000 people, being surrounded by large tracts of native bushland to the north, west and south and the Tasman Sea to east.
The local community is diverse and easygoing and does not really lack for facilities of any kind. Our young daughters make full use of the active junior sports scene, playing both domestic (The Entrance Devils) and Central Coast junior rep hockey, Basketball at Terrigal in the winter months (if you can call it winter) and in the summer are involved in the the Surf saving ‘Nippers’ club, competing for North Avoca. As is the case for many many families, this creates a fairly hectic schedule with sports trips to Canberra, Newcastle & Tamworth in recent weeks and up to 5 hockey games beween the 3 girls each weekend in under 9′s, 13′s & 15′s and associated training during the week.
